Potty Training Gone Wrong

Let me start off by saying this is NOT a success story. Nor will you find helpful advice, because nothing has worked for me. I have two toddlers ages 2.5 and 3.5. They are talking, familiar with the potty, can dress themselves for the most part and can even tell me they have to go Potty!  However, the potty has become this horrible inconvience in their heads. To my kids going to the potty means they have to stop having fun to go and they would rather per their pants then get up and go. I have tried everything from reward charts, instant rewards, cool new underwear, insisting only babies wear diapers. They hge even been around other kids their age who are potty trained, but don't feel they need to do it. I've tried to keep the experience positive and enjoyable, but they have banded against me. We started last week. No luck, but I read of several similar experiences where they kept the diapers of and the kids got tired of peeing themselves. Unfortunately, we still had diaper...

love the Mess Intro

Welcome to Love the Mess! This is not my first blog, but hopefully it will be the one that sticks. Stick around to follow my journey balancing motherhood, home management, finances and self love. I created this blog over a year ago, on paper that is. I created this blog when I was struggling with major anxiety. I was stressing myself out over every little thing that wasn't meeting some sort of perfection I had created in my head. Finally, something clicked. I don't know exactly when or what it was, but I realized I was stressing over trying to make my life into something I didn't even want. That's when I started to 'Love the mess'. Loving the mess isn't about letting you house be a mess all the time. However, it's accepting that life is messy and that's okay.
